How to Suggest Features | Useful Links | "Beta Buddies"

Firstly, I must apologise for the delay in the contest results.  It takes a while with only one judge, but it shouldn't be too much longer.

In terms of the prompts, you may or may not have noticed that they have not changed very recently. This is because, due to the inactivity of the prompt folder, I have had to rethink its place on the group's page. Obviously, we do not want to force people to use the prompts when they may not want or need to, however if they are not being used then it seems pointless to keep them on our page, as they take up room unnecessarily, and may disappoint artists if their work is not used.

However, for those of you that may still be interested in the prompts, whether they are used or not, we will be trying out a new formula with them before we make a more permanent decision.

Therefore, until further notice, prompts will act on a 'mini-contest' basis. Every month, any and all prompt submissions for that month's prompts will be judged by the founder, and the winner will recieve 100 points.

Members can still use a previous month's prompts and submit, but they will not be eligible for judging. In terms of other rules, general group rules apply, and the prompt must be credited.

This will begin as of the beginning of August.

We also have a vacancy for the folder manager of Sci Fi - Short Stories.

As well as reviewing pieces in your folder and voting on them as you feel is appropriate, you will be in charge of answering any questions regarding the folder, and having the ultimate say on what you believe should and should not be accepted. You will also be required to select two or three pieces for the seasonal features.
However, as the founder, I reserve the right to overturn any decision I feel is incorrect, but this is likely to be a rare occurance. I can also answer any questions that you may have.

Anyone who wishes to apply should be aware that you will need enough time to be able to perform your duties, but this should not take up a significant portion of your day. You should also be able to do this with an unbiased view.

This is a role that would greatly benefit someone with a passion for sci fi literature. You would be able to discover many new and exciting authors, and bring attention to those you feel are deserving of more exposure. You would also be able to get a chance to work with the group at its core.

Finally, I realise that the spring features were never announced. I apologise for this, as they were chosen, but were never released. As such, the spring features will become the summer features, and spring will have to be skipped.

Should you have any questions regarding any of this feel free to ask.

Until next time, happy writing. :typerhappy:

I'm interested in applying to be the 'Sci-Fi - Short Story' folder admin; would it be appropriate for me to send you a message with a few details, or how would you like to go about this?
